United Nations SDG Book Club African Chapter A coalition of African book club industry actors with guidance from the International Publishers Association (IPA) and the United Nations Namibia have come together to establish this book club. The African Club promotes the UN Sustainable Development Goals using children's books of all kinds as a tool.

Saraba Magazine & Saraba Manuscript PrizeFounded by Damilola Ajayi and Emmanuel Iduma, Saraba magazine provides a platform for emerging writers to showcase their talent. The magazine accepts submissions from new writers in Nigeria and from other parts of Africa. The Saraba Manuscript Prize, a recent initiative of the magazine,is a powerful response to the growing interest in literature published and discussed within African countries. The prize accepts manuscript submissions in fiction and non-fiction categories from Nigerian writers at home and abroad. The aim is to bring the works of new writers to the attention of established and reputable new generation publishers. Bahati BooksFounded by King's College London alumna, Barbara Njau and by business partner Kudakwashe Kamupira, Bahati Books is currently based at Bush House, London. Lagos Book and Art Festival, LABAFAfrica's biggest cultural picnic', an international event LABAF is an art festival with a 'heavy book content'. The host of LABAF, Committee for Relevant Art (CORA) periodically also hosts the Book Editor's Clinic at the festival. The Clinic seeks to cultivate standards in the quality of books and literary materials produced in Nigeria. CORA also hosts the Publishers Forum as a pre-LABAF event.
